First photo is from yesterday. Second two from today. Great price for strong, bold coffee. I paid 7 for a 32 ounce macchiato, including oat milk. If you want real coffee in a nice-sized cup for a great price. This place is meant for you.

Oh my, this is my go to for "Peanut Butter Banzai Acai Bowl" is my all time favorite. I have one every week when visiting my brother. The fresh taste of the berries and the peanut butter just sets it off, topped with bananas and strawberries . My brother loves their coffee and said it's got great flavor. Check this place our for great service and a quick healthy snack or drink, it won't let you down.

My favorite coffee shack. Love this place! Good quality coffee and friendly staff. I wish it stayed open a little later but it definitely dies down after 12pm. Great coconut and vanilla lattes, you can taste the shaka coffee beans. The acai bowls are awesome too, I'm obsessed with this place. They also have a punch card it's great!!

I'm obsessed with acai bowls and Shaka's was fresh, delicious, & proportioned perfectly toppings-wise. The iced Aloha Mocha was fantastic too! Service was awesome. Love this place, wish I was in town for longer to enjoy it more!

It was a cold and rainy November day, I was a father of two in his late 30s driving to pick up his kids from school. I thought to myself a hot coffee would be great right about now. At a stoplight on Balboa Avenue I typed in coffee in my Google maps app. The typical Starbucks and Mc cafe saturated the map. A voice inside of me said “F@ck Big corporate coffee, try something different”. So I zoomed in and amongst the clutter of overpriced corporate coffee I found SHAKA! It was a cute, tiny structure. I quickly scrolled through the photos to see if they had a drive-through because like any true San Diegan I dreaded getting out of my warm car with heated seats to brave the 60 weather and rain. I was in luck they did have a drive-through. I quickly jerked the wheel to the left crossed two lanes cutting off three drivers and pulled into the parking lot(jk). The barista cold, alone and bored greeted me with a smile. I promptly ordered a large HOT macchiato with two pumps of caramel gave her a tip and proceeded to my children’s school. The first sip was perfect and I promptly had to write a review when I arrived at the parking lot. SHAKA thanks for putting a smile on my face on this dreary day. Seriously, though the barista said there’s only one other location in San Diego and both are owned by the same person. The coffee tasted great and it made me happy to support a small local business. Give them a try! I received no free coffee or compensation for this review(although I am not opposed to the idea). I am simply a father of two, in a parking lot, killing time until the bell rings

I like the variety and convenience. I love the macadamia nut coffee as it's very smooth and flavorful. Starbucks: You're fired! Edit: thanks to the owner for the response. I am still your customer. The only downside is that I wish I didn’t have to pay extra for substitution to almond milk as a creamer. Why do I suffer from being lactose intolerant?

I am so sad this place is closing!! I like my coffee black, strong, and not starbucks... I don’t understand why both starbucks and shaka can’t coexist!! 2 different coffee profiles for sure. Aggressive market expansion tactics from Starbucks ...
